The Chapada Diamantina celebrates another victory, the HOTEL DE LENÇÓIS just received the certificate of Sustainability by ABNT.

 

Detailed description of the Caring for the Destination Initiative:
Some of the sustainability actions taken by the Hotel de Lençóis include solar water heating system, water recycling for the garden's irrigation, preferential use of recycled paper, use of low-consumption light bulbs, conversion of organic garbage to organic compost , waste-recycling, preferential use of renewable wooden resources, creation of a cultivated green area of five hectares around the hotel, donation of trees to associated institutions, support of youth education projects such as Grãos de Luz and Mãe Fifa, sponsoring campaigns to reduce the use of dismissible plastic bags, supporting local cultural manifestations, and preserving the local cultural identity by valuing and showing respect to local habits, beliefs, art and histories.
